Self-portraiture techniques: The grid method and understanding facial proportions
Understanding Visual Elements: Create values using lines, patterns and simulated textures.
Colour Theory: Balancing cool vs. warm colours and putting together a cohesive colour palette
We’re kickstarting the year with a chuck close-inspired self-portrait painting. The contemporary artist Chuck Close is known for his large portraits of faces made from multiple small geometric forms. Our Junior Artists will be diving into the art of portraiture and geometric shapes this season - join us on this journey!
